Man dies after fall into Fife storm drain

FIFE — Police in the community of Fife say a man has died after falling into a storm drain while trying to retrieve his keys.

KIRO-TV in Seattle reported the man apparently dropped his keys into the drain while taking trash from his apartment to a nearby trash disposal area. He reportedly lifted the heavy grate and reached in but fell in head-first.

KIRO reported he died on the way to a hospital.
