GOLD BAR – A man died after his four-wheel-drive pickup apparently lost control and plunged off a rugged road in eastern Snohomish County.
A Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office search-and-rescue team found the man in his truck at 3 p.m. Sunday, after scouring the densely forested Reiter Road area for about 10 hours.
A search team was dispatched to the area about 5 a.m., after a man called 911, reporting that his friend had lost control of his truck somewhere off Reiter Road, said Kevin Prentiss, sheriff’s office bureau chief.
The caller told sheriff’s dispatchers that he had talked with his friend, who was trapped in his truck, Prentiss said.
The accident remained under investigation Sunday.
