Man found dead in Hazel Dell house

HAZEL DELL — A Clark County sheriff’s spokesman says the death of a man found in a Hazel Dell house is being treated as a homicide.

The man was not immediately identified. He was found Monday morning.

Sgt. Fred Neiman told The Columbian that the man had been shot, but the cause of death was not immediately determined.

Sgt. Kevin Allais said no one had been arrested as of Monday night.

Neiman said detectives believe the victim and whoever shot him probably knew each other in some way. He said there’s no reason to think neighbors are at risk.

Nearby residents say they have seen lots of people coming and going at the house, which is reportedly a rental.
