STANWOOD — A man fleeing deputies was hit by a car late Friday evening when he tried to run across I-5 near 300th Street NW.
The 25-year-old suspect, who was running from Snohomish County Sheriff’s deputies, continued to try to get away even after being clipped by the car, said sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton
He was detained by officers on the scene and transported to a hospital by North County Regional Fire Authority.
Deputies responded about 9 p.m. to an alleged assault in the 3000 block of 300th Street NW. The young man was being arrested when he assaulted an officer and ran across the southbound lanes of I-5. He then ran across the northbound lanes and was struck.
The driver of the vehicle was not charged.
