Man in critical condition after Seattle shooting

SEATTLE — A suspect is at large after a shooting that left a man in critical condition in Seattle’s University District.

Seattle police said officers patrolling the area heard the gunshots at about 2 a.m. Saturday and found the victim on the ground. KIRO-TV reported that the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Police said a bullet entered his chest and exited near his groin. Investigators said one witness reported seeing the shots being fired but didn’t see much else because he was trying to get away.

Dale Aramaki, who was visiting his daughter for Thanksgiving, told KIRO he heard the shots and saw the man clutching his stomach and collapsing as he stumbled away. Aramaki said he saw people performing CPR on the victim.

The motive for the shooting remained unclear.
