GETCHELL — A man was flown via helicopter to a Seattle hospital Tuesday night after an off-roading accident in the Getchell area.
The crash happened about 6 p.m. in some woods about a half-mile east of the Frontier Airpark airport between north Marysville and Granite Falls.
The man, who appeared to be in his early 40s, was seriously injured, Getchell Fire Chief Travis Hots said.
Firefighters from Getchell, Lake Stevens and Granite Falls worked together to find the man in the woods and get him to the helicopter, Hots said. Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies also were at the scene.
The chief reminds people to use caution and wear protective gear when riding off-road vehicles.
