DARRINGTON — A young man was recovering at a hospital today after being shot at a campground near Darrington.
Snohomish and Skagit County sheriff’s detectives were investigating if a dispute between two groups at Dearinger Campground may have led to the shooting of a 23-year-old man, said Tom Molitor, a chief criminal deputy at the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
Skagit County deputies were alerted to the shooting about 1 a.m., after the victim’s friends drove him to Darrington to get medical help. Initial reports indicated that the shooting may have happened in Skagit County.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. His injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Molitor said.
