EVERETT — A man struck by two pickup trucks on I-5 in Everett on Tuesday survived the night.
“He is still alive but still in very critical condition,” said trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol.
Investigators believe the man was hit while trying to cross the freeway about 5 a.m. Tuesday near the 75th Street SE overpass.
“We still don’t know why he was crossing,” Francis said.
Troopers as of Wednesday morning had not been able to confirm the man’s identity, Francis said. The man wasn’t carrying identification and may be too badly hurt to speak. Troopers also have not located his family or friends.
The man is believed to be in his 30s. Anyone with information should call 360-654-1204.
Neither driver was suspected of using drugs or alcohol, Francis said. Both had swerved to try to avoid a collision. They are not expected to be cited.
