Marysville man dies in Lake Stevens accident

LAKE STEVENS — A Marysville man died in a collision on Highway 9 just north of Lake Stevens on Saturday night.

Arthur Whetstone, 69, was southbound when he apparently lost control of his Toyota pickup, according to the Washington State Patrol. He slid sideways into the northbound lane.

The pickup was struck by a northbound Chevrolet Tahoe driven by an Arlington woman, 32. She was treated at the scene for her injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected to be a factor.
