MARYSVILLE — A 32-year-old Marysville man was behind bars Thursday after he reportedly entered a couple’s home, pistol-whipped the man and tried to rob the couple of video game equipment.

The man knocked on the couple’s door in the 8700 block of 67th Ave NE early Wednesday night, Marysville police Cmdr. Robb Lamoureux said.

The man told the couple he was a maintenance worker, but when they opened the door, he reportedly hit the man, 25, in his head with a gun. He then ordered the man to tie up the woman, Lamoureux said. The woman, 20, ran away and called police.

The suspect demanded “all your Xbox stuff,” the couple told police.

Officers who responded found the man hiding in blackberry bushes behind the apartments. He was booked into Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.
