Missing kayaker, 69, found safe near Skykomish

SKYKOMISH — A missing kayaker has been located and is uninjured, according to the King County Sheriff’s Office.

A King County man, 69, had been kayaking on the river when he capsized and went into the water.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office’s dive team was called out to help at about 7 p.m. on Friday. It assisted the King County Sheriff’s Office in the search. Authorities were looking for the man on the Beckler River east of Skykomish. The kayaker was found with no injuries before 10 p.m.
