SNOHOMISH — A motorcyclist died Saturday after a wreck along Highway 9 south of Snohomish.
The 48-year-old Kelso man was driving south on Highway 9. He didn’t see that traffic had stopped, and swerved into the northbound lanes, according to the Washington State Patrol.
His motorcycle struck a passing Toyota Corolla near the Snohomish River Bridge. It was about 1:30 p.m.
The Kelso man died at the scene.
A Bothell man, 48, and a Kirkland woman, 47, were in the Corolla. They were taken to a local hospital, according to the State Patrol. Their condition was not immediately available.
Highway 9 between Marsh Road and the bridge was closed for several hours while detectives investigated the cause of the collision.
The State Patrol said speed was a factor.
