Mountlake Terrace police officer on leave after DUI charge

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — A police commander with the Mountlake Terrace Police Department has been placed on administrative leave after his Feb. 1 arrest for investigation of drunken driving.

Cmdr. Don Duncan was arrested early that morning by the Washington State Patrol. He was in his personal vehicle at the time he was stopped.

The arrest took place in the Lake Stevens area, Mountlake Terrace city officials said.

The case has been sent to Snohomish County prosecutors for review.

Duncan was formally charged with DUI, officials said.

He’s on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.
