SEATTLE — King County prosecutors have filed a second-degree murder charge in the fatal stabbing of an unarmed man who intervened to break up a fight between an Auburn man and his girlfriend.
Prosecutors charged 24-year-old Marcus Frounfelter of Seattle on Thursday in Monday’s death of 23-year-old Roger W. Roberts. No bail has yet been set for Frounfelter, who is in custody in the King County Jail.
Charging documents say Frounfelter is a nephew of the woman involved in the fight.
Prosecutors said Roberts died from a 4-inch-deep stab wound to his chest that punctured his heart.
According to court papers, Frounfelter told detectives he suffers from brain trauma and has had 19 surgeries to address his health issues.
