Darrington: Apply to be a fire commissioner
Darrington Fire District 24 is accepting letters of interest from people who want to serve as a fire commissioner for the district.
The district’s board of commissioners, as a result of the Nov. 8 election approval, is increasing from three to five commissioners.
One position is for two years and the other is for four years.
Those who want to apply should submit a letter to: Darrington Fire District 24, P.O. Box 1238, Darrington, WA 98241, or bring the letter to Station 39 at 1115 Seeman St., Darrington.
Applications are due before 4 p.m. Nov. 25.
Lake Stevens: Dickens Fair scheduled Dec. 3
More than 90 vendors, dressed in Charles Dickens-era clothes, are set to sell their hand-crafted wares while children from the Lake Stevens School District community perform and sing carols Dec. 3 at the annual Dickens Fair.
The fair, scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., is planned in the Cavelero Mid High School cafeteria.
Admission to the fair is a can of food or monetary donation for the Lake Stevens Food Bank.
The Lake Stevens School District Community Education program is hosting the event.
All proceeds go to support the volunteer recognition evening in April.
Cavelero Mid High is located at 8220 24th St. SE.

Marysville: Shop at Order Up Gift Show
Residents can start their holiday shopping today at the Ken Baxter Community Center.
The Order Up Gift Show, from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m., will feature 26 vendors selling gifts that can be ordered or purchased on site.

Stanwood: Romantic farce takes the stage
“The Servant of Two Masters” is on stage tonight and Saturday at Stanwood High School
Set in Venice during the 1700s, this tangled tale of love draws on the traditions and characters of the commedia dell’arte theater, the director said.
The cast includes Kelly O’Heron, Claire Paquet, Nic Jensen, Alex Murry, Sam Tichota, Levi Bork, Elizabeth Russell, Scarlette Abuhl, Cameron Waters, Taylor Huff, Chris Thurston, Carolina Abinajm and Hailey Gibler-Cote.
The show starts at 7 p.m. in the school Performing Arts Center, 7400 272nd St. NW.
Tickets are available at the door before curtain time. Cost is $8 for students and $9 for adults.
