Camano Island: Community center Crab Fest fundraiser

What Camano artist and musician Jack Archibald calls the annual Invasion of the Crustaceans happens Saturday when Camano Center volunteers offer up their Crab Fest to raise money for senior and community programs.

The event is from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the center, 606 Arrowhead Road.

Archibald and the South End String Slingers, with guest mandolinist Barry Gum of Montana, plans to perform a mix of roots music, fiddle tunes and Celtic pieces.

Bring your bib.

Cost is $20 or $18 for center members.

Lake Stevens: Take a tour of two schools

Want to see Lake Stevens students in action? Superintendent Amy Beth Cook is leading parents on a tour of an elementary school and a secondary school on Feb. 15.

The superintendent will be talking about the district’s progress. The event starts with a continental breakfast with the superintendent and ends with a school lunch.

Camp Fire USA is planning an information night for Lake Stevens Schools on Thursday.

The meeting is scheduled at 6:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Elementary, 9315 Fourth St. SE.

Marysville: Library offers Kindermusik

Kids up to 7 years old can learn music and dance at Kindermusik, beginning Jan. 24. The classes run Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the Marysville Library at 6120 Grove St.

Kindermusik is a music and movement program designed to stimulate early childhood development.

Learn about school programs at info fair

Marysville School District staff will answer questions about school programs at the annual Information Fair on Jan. 28.

The fair is being held at a new location this year, the Arts and Technology High School at 7204 27th Ave. NE in Marysville.

It is open from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The event also includes kindergarten registration, meet-and-greets with Rudy the transportation mascot and tours of the Marysville Getchell Campus.
