Arlington: Runway to close for paving

Arlington Municipal Airport officials plan to close a runway for a slurry-seal paving project.

The paving project is set to start Monday.

Art teacher offers summer classes

City recreation classes this summer include those for kids interested in art.

Arlington High School art teacher Bev Schatz plans to teach collage and altered imagery using mixed media and photography July 26 through 28 in the high school art room, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd. Students in first through third grades are scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. and those in fourth through sixth grades can take the class from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

See the movie ‘E.T.’ at Terrace Park

“E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial,” the popular film by Steven Spielberg, is set to play at dusk, about 9 p.m., Thursday in the amphitheater at Terrace Park, 809 Fifth St.

Young aviator camp at Arlington airport

Camps for young aviators ages 12 through 18 are set for Monday through Wednesday and Aug. 9 through 13 at Arlington Municipal Airport.

Lakewood: Celebrate Camp Fire centennial

Camp Fire USA is turning 100 years old and the Snohomish County Council of the youth services organization is planning a big celebration.

Stanwood: Council cancels meeting

The Stanwood City Council meeting set for Thursday has been cancelled. A workshop meeting regarding the city’s comprehensive water plan is set for July 29. The next regular council meeting is set for Aug. 12.
