EVERETT – One man is dead and another was taken to the hospital after an early morning shooting Tuesday in the 2400 block of 75th St., police said.
Detectives from the Everett Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit were at the scene where a man in his early 30s was found shot in the garage of the home.
Police were called around 2 a.m, Sgt. Robert Goetz said.
They found a shirtless and bloodied man in the street.
“They detained him without incident while they were figuring out what was going on,” Goetz said.
The man, 36, had a wound to his head that wasn’t believed to be life-threatening. It didn’t appear to be caused by a gunshot, Goetz said.
Police were able to recover a handgun that might have been used in the shooting, Goetz said.
Neither man lived at the home.
“This was not a random act,” Goetz said. “We are still trying to determine how they came together.”
Police also were interviewing the home owner to try to get more information about what led to the shooting.
