Overheard on the police beat

“They’re kind of boogey-ing down 41st. I’m going to have to hustle to catch them.”

“She says the one thing that really stands out about him is he has really, really big eyes.”

“I guarantee you there’s no SWAT raid.”

“I’m clearing the booking area now. They have a screamer in there.”

“When I was first on the phone with her, it sounded kind of legit.”

“Hey, if she can’t figure out who she is, maybe book her as a Jane Doe, let her sit for a couple of days. That might help her figure it out.”

“She has financial problems and is mad at her family. She is outside now, stating that she doesn’t have any heart problems … Medics, be advised she is yelling and screaming now.”

“Hey, your female from last night is standing outside the jail, maybe waiting for somebody. Do you have any need for her?”

“I probably will after I search her car, but I probably won’t get to that for a few hours.”

Confusion over possible suspects at a burglary:

“She says she lives here with Steve.”

“If she lives there with Steve, does she have a number where we could call him?”

“She says it’s not that kind of relationship.”

From an arrest report:

“(Suspect) reportedly stores his property upstairs in the residence but doesn’t live there because of the family’s dislike to his current drug addiction.”
