SEATTLE — A pilot suffered a nose injury when his small plane crashed in a northeast King County field.

The sheriff’s office said the pilot told first responders a bird came through his windshield shortly before the Saturday afternoon crash.

The pilot whose name has not been released was taken to Overlake Hospital Medical Center.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate.
