CAMANO ISLAND — Police are searching for a man suspected of invading a couple’s Camano Island home at gunpoint and stealing cash.
The suspect pulled up to the couple’s home along Sandy Drive before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
He got out of a black sport utility vehicle and forced the couple inside their home, according to the Island County Sheriff’s Office. The 57-year-old man and 60-year-old woman told police he had what looked like a shotgun.
He reportedly duct-taped the couple’s hands and legs, stole their cash and ran.
The couple was able to escape shortly after. They were not injured.
Detectives believe the home invasion was not a random act. Evidence indicates the couple was targeted.
The suspect was described as white and in his 20s. He was taller than 6-foot and thin. The suspect was wearing dark clothing and a mask.
Anyone with information about the suspect or his whereabouts is asked to contact the sheriff’s office at 360-679-9567 or tips@co.island.wa.us.
