PROSSER — The Zirkle Wine Co. in Prosser grows grapes, crushes grapes and ferments grape juice, but don’t look for its brand in the market.
The company processes wine for others. One of its biggest customers is Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, the largest wine producer in the state.
The Tri-City Herald reported that Zirkle completed a $4.5 million custom crush facility just in time for this year’s harvest. It crushed and pressed the juice out of about 5,000 tons of grapes.
