Remains found on Darrington trail identified

DARRINGTON — Human remains found this past weekend on a trail near Darrington have been identified as those of Greg Keller, 58, of Seattle.

Keller had been missing since fall 2009, officials said Thursday. His cause of death is under investigation by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Keller planned a week-long hiking trip in the Boulder River Wilderness area in October 2009. His friends called authorities when he did not return.
