50 years ago (1964)

Going over plans and committee lists for the annual Providence Hospital Children’s Association Silver Tea to be held April 1 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. best, were tea co-chairs Marie Waltz and Helen Lindblom. The benefit was open to all women in Everett and vicinity.

Airman Gary Warner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alan Warmer 3919 High St., had completed basic training at Lackland AFB, Texas, and reassigned to Keesler ARB, Miss., for technical training as a communications electronics specialist.

25 years ago (1989)

Crooks beware! Snohomish County law officers could now finger lawbreakers from fingerprints at crime scenes far faster than before. Yesterday officials switched on a new computerized system that could do in minutes what used to take months. Sherriff Jim Scharf said it was a tremendous step forward in investigations.

Affection baby lambs and sheep in need of a shave were two sights of spring for the Wilson family, owners of the Glen Gyle Farm in Lowell. Sheep shearer Darrell Docktor de-wooled their 75 sheep yesterday. Elaine Wilson said they were about three weeks behind in the shearing due to cold weather.
