50 years ago (1964)
A reshuffling in the Everett Junior College office affected two staff members. Political science teacher David McCourt was named coordinator of curriculum development and Ralph Selhorn, director of technical education and vocational education division chairman, was given an additional assignment of administrative assistant for instruction. The shifts were made due to the resignation of Dr. William Steward, who left to become president of Wenatchee Valley College.

Michelle Mickel of Edmonds, Helen Anne Carpenter of Lynnwood and Bonnie Jean Logen of Stanwood all received scholarships at the annual awards banquet of Washington State University’s College of Agriculture and Home Economics.
An old military control tower at Paine Field, padlocked for years, was a target for the wrecking ball. Airport Manager Don Bakken recalled when military personnel regularly evacuated the iron and sheet metal structure when winds clocked 40 mph for fear the 1940s tower might topple.
