50 years ago (1964)

Approximately 100 pioneers of the Marysville area gathered for their annual reunion and election of officers in the Marysville High School cafetorium. New officers were Frances Grannis, Ernest Thompson, Donald Saunders, Juliette Gellerson and Amelie Dockendorf.

The Snohomish County Engineer’s office announced today that the bridge into the town of Index would be closed to all traffic the day after tomorrow. Construction crews would be working on replacement of the north approach and construction of a new earth fill.

25 years ago (1989)

Craig Skotdal, current freshmen class president at Everett High School, checked election results at the Snohomish County auditor’s office and found that he had been re-elected as sophomore class president. EHS was one of 10 high schools that took part in an area wide student government election day.

The home of Carol and Gosta Dagg at 702 Laurel Drive was one of the homes on the upcoming historic home tour sponsored by the Everett Assistance League and the Everett Historical Commission. The Rucker Hill American Foursquare home featured original unpainted woodwork and a fireplace in the master bedroom.
