Alice Ratcliff was appointed field underwriter for the New York Life Insurance Co., according to Gerald D. Hyde, general manager for the Everett general office. Ratcliff had been office manager for the past 12 years for Rowland Sales Inc. in Everett.
Having completed his basic training for the Unite State Coast Guard at Alameda, Calif., Seaman Apprentice Rodger E. Petersen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Petersen, 615 W. 51st St., was assigned to the USCG training station in Groton, Conn., for training as an electronic technician.
25 years ago (1989)
Chris Henderson, of Cascade High School, was named the national high school soccer player of the year by Gatorade and Scholastic Coach magazine. The Bruins’ captain had been a three-year starter. During that time Cascade compile a 60-4 record, won the 1986 state championship and finished second last year.
Everett police examine a hole punched in the side of the Re-Nu Auto Top Shop, 3002 Grand Ave., by a car that slammed into the building from the nearby state liquor state parking lot yesterday morning. While the accident left a big hole in the building, there were no serious injuries.
