50 years ago (1963)
Len Lillibridge, North Junior High School vice principal, was also one of the area’s veteran basketball officials. Lillibridge expected that the 1963-64 games would take five minutes longer and more points would be scored with the new rule that called for the timer clock to stop on each violation. He also said it would end the stalling that used to be so common getting the ball back into play.
Everett life insurance man Vergil N. Howard of 1711 Colby Ave., had qualified for the 12th time for Mutual of New York’s National Field Club, an annual honor organization for sales leaders among the company’s 3,500 field underwriters in the United States and Canada.
25 years ago (1988)
Cheryl Allendoerfer of Everett, a junior majoring in sociology/anthropology at Carleton College, Northfield, Minn., had been studying in Denmark this fall. She was a Mariner High School grad and the daughter of James and Carolyn Allendoerfer.
Meanwhile over at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn., Sarah Mann of Snohomish had been elected to the student Senate. Her parents were Rollie and Linda Mann.
