Frank Woltring would serve as master of ceremonies at the meeting of the North Everett Lions Club at Johnny Walker’s Town House Restaurant. The meeting would concern finalizing plans for the dedication ceremonies in connection with the new lights on Broadway.
Island Rythms was the dance theme for a group from the Sally Heller Sharp Studios at the Jitney Dinner portion of the Women of the Moose bazaar in Marysville. Those dancing included Diane Beals, Charlotte Peppel, Margie Brazeau, Norma Beals, Von Baker and Anja Salzer.
25 years ago (1988)
Retired veterinarian Ed Diamond was tapped to be the newest member of the Everett City Council. Council members reached the decision behind closed doors. He would fill the vacancy created when Ray Stephanson stepped down to accept a job promotion with GTE Northwest.
The League of Snohomish County Historical Organizations was soliciting nominations for its Malstrom Awards. Each year, the group looked for projects on local history in the county. The awards were named for the late Helmer Malstrom, an Everett historian.
