Mr. and Mrs. Howard E. Rod, Silvana-area dairy farmers, were named Snohomish County’s Dairy Family of the Year by the County Dairy Federation. The Rods and their two children, Bill, 19; and Nancy, 10; operated a 132-acre layout in the Stillaguamish River valley with a herd of 60 Holsteins.
Mike Boomer left on a 10-day trip he won in a Hearst Publications contest that took him to Australia, the Fiji Islands and Hawaii.
25 years ago (1988)
Everett’s oldest and largest privately held real estate company planned to expand and become a more aggressive real estate presence in the county. D.A. Duryea &Co.’s real estate division intended to hire more sales agents, improve the three offices it owned and possibly add more.
Michael J. Bourgault was the newest member of the Snohomish County Fairgrounds Advisory Board, filling a post vacated with the resignation of Lynn Wallace. Bourgault was a real estate broker with Bourgault Properties in Lynnwood.
