De Milt Morse, 1919 Adams St., beamed with pride at his prize-winning doodle bug, which captured top honors in the “Most Unusual Pet” section of yesterday’s Snohomish County Humane Society’s Pet Fair at Garfield Playfield. Young Morse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Morse, was the owner of eight doodle bugs.

The sports page reflected on sports of the past in and around Everett. One article focused on the 1920 Everett High School football team that won the mythical national championship. Coached by math teacher Enoch Bagshaw, the Seagulls capped an unbeaten season with a 16-7 victory over Cleveland Technical School (Ohio).
Ellison’s Pharmacy &Gift Shop at 8410 Mukilteo Speedway in Mukilteo had lost its lease and was having a liquidation sale. Everything had to go and there were savings of up to 60 percent on such items as modern oak and antique fixtures, antique wrapping stands, glass shelving, lighted showcases and quality merchandise.
