50 years ago (1963)
The final beaching of the American Tug Boast Co. tug Peter was announced by A.E. soli, company president. The Barbara S. would be its replacement. The Peter, now sitting high on blocks at 14th Street, had completed 26 years of service, nearly all of it from Everett. Skippered for many years by Capt. Milt Perkins, it was the pride of American’s fleet.
Under the direction of Don Jucau, members of the stage crew for Everett High’s presentation of The Music Man were busy putting the final touches on what would become River City. Members included Ollie Doyle, Skip Keys and Pete Johansen.
25 years ago (1988)
Wes Love was to be honored with the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Community Service award. State Sen. Cliff Bailey would be guest speaker at the luncheon meeting at the Silver King Cafe.
Having their grand opening was The Olympic Hot Tub Company at the Nielsen Center on Everett Mall Way. They sold the Hot Spring Spa and offered up to $330 in free accessories and gifts with the purchase of one. Refreshments and free gifts were available at the celebration.
