50 years ago (1963)
A front page color photograph showed Judy Walsh, Judy Cooper and Marcia Herivel, all graduating seniors at Everett High School, ready to picnic on a sailboat on the waterfront. The issue promoted outdoor living at its best, right here in Everett.
Two of the fancy skaters who cold be seen in the annual revue to be presented later this week at Marysville Skate-Inn were Cathy Darling and Barry Vanderbrug. The show was an amateur production presented by Charlotte Groves, instructor at the rink. Others in featured roles were Barbara Turpin, Laurel Stephens, Bonnie Davis, Mary Borders, Pam Froejen, Linda Carlson, Jean Morrical, Debbie Sundstrom, Wayne Trubshaw, Jodie Petersen and Larry Curfman.
25 years ago (1988)
Rug Huggers had opened at 126 Glen St. in the Star Center Mall in Snohomish. It carried a line of all- cotton clothing for children, toddlers and infants. Lori Furlong and Charles Joy were the owners.
Bill Bettencourt had been appointed international business coordinator for INTERNET, Edmonds Community College’s new international education and training department. INTERNET was being established with a $181,258 grant from the U.S. Department of Education to offer training in the field on international business.
