Greg Lueth, son of Mr. and Mrs. William S. Lueth, 2615 Oakes Ave., was one of five finalists for the regional Hallmark Honor prize for the state. The North Junior student’s art instructor was Richard Shideler.
James Avery and John Alex Fulcher, twins sons of Mr. and Mrs. Avery Fulcher of Sultan, were celebrating their first birthday today. Grandparents were Mr. and Mrs. Ward Bowden, Sultan; Mrs. And Mrs. J.A. Fulcher, Monroe; and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Nelson, Cle Elum.
25 years ago (1989)
The lobby of the Tulalip Bingo Hall had been transformed to a miniature museum depicting the historic Tulalip lifestyle. Education specialist Hank Gobin called cedar the staff of life for the tribes. Tulalip board member Debra Posie said the centennial-inspired display of tribal artifacts provided a sense of vision.
Stacey Edwards scored seven of her nine points in the third quarter to help bring Darrington from behind and earn a trip to the state tournament with a 41-36 victory over Friday Harbor in a Tri-District B tournament game at Arlington Middle School. Coach Roger Padgett said his team played better defense in the second half.
