50 years ago (1963)

Erik Eide and Rudie Thomsen were re-elected as directors of the Federal Land Bank Association of Everett for the Stanwood and Arlington districts at the annual stockholders’ meeting in Marysville. Both directors had been members of the association for more than 30 years.

Neal Walters was now a real estate broker, opening offices at 6833 Evergreen Way. He formerly was a real estate salesman and associate broker, and worked in the building field. Salesmen in the office included Sandy Stahley and Art Hearron.

25 years ago (1988)

Carter’s Drug Store at 2227 Broadway was where the Easter Bunny worked. It was time to order plush bunnies, divinity eggs and solid chocolate novelties with your name in chocolate. Carter’s was open every day from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Snapper mowers could be purchased through an All American Spring savings promotion. Participating dealers included Broadway Hardware, Co-op, Farmer’s Garden Center, Silverlake and Summers Garden Center in Everett, Great Northern True Value and Co-op in Marysville, Arlington Garden Center in Arlington, Co-op in Snohomish, Coast to Coast in Stanwood, and Glen’s in Granite Falls.
