50 years ago (1963)

Wesley Baker of Everett would speak on “Baha’i Solutions to World Problem” at a lecture in the Darigold Building at 2531 Broadway. He was a graduate of Western Washington State College and a teacher in Edmonds at Maple Park Non-Graded Elementary School.

Airman 2/c Charles F. Day, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Day, 2419 112th St. SW, Everett, was home on leave after duty at Goose Bay Labrador. Airman Day, a graduate of Everett High School, had two years left on his enlistment. He would next report to Tyndall AFB, Panama City, Fla.

25 years ago (1988)

William Rucker, former attorney and president of H&L Sports, had been named chairman of the board of directors of Everett Mutual Saving Bank. Everett Mutual had just opened its new Madison branch building. Doug Weir was the branch manager. The distinctive new facility, designed by William Finley, featured a large reception and customer service area.

Jack A. Cornick of Mill Creek was promoted to senior vice president of Washington Mutual Savings Bank. He was responsible for coordinating the sale of bank and subsidiary products in the 50 financial centers statewide.
