Elwin F. Anderson, a member of Everett Racing Pigeon Club, was presented an American Racing Pigeon Union Hall of Fame pin to wear in his lapel. O.W. (Bud) Walker, secretary of the Everett club, made the presentation.
Rose’s Turkey Inn was having its grand opening on Sunday. It was located at 4332 Rucker Avenue, formerly The Barrel. Prime young turkey dinners were $1.70. They also specialized in homemade pies and salad dressings.
25 years ago (1988)
Those who had spend the past few days of winter dusting off dark glasses and relaxing in 60-degree-plus temperature on the back deck were now facing payback time. We were catching up with winter with gusty winds, showers and some snow. Motorists on East Hewitt Avenue faced mushy driving yesterday.
The Speedway it was and the Speedway it would remain. The Mukilteo City Council decided last night to keep the name for the main road into town from the south. The origin of the name was a matter of debate between armchair historians, but there was a general agreement that the name had been around for a long time.
