50 years ago (1963)
“Family Album” by Noel Coward was being presented by Everett High School’s Drama Department at the one-act-play festival at Pacific Lutheran University. Cast members were Pam Harley, Lois Foraker, Susan Cooper, Billie Plattis, Don Bettger, Ronald Sissons, Mike Littell, Chad Henry and Phil McConnell. Andrea Kent and instructor Bob Henry were directing.
Jimmy Lofling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lofling of Everett, was one of four winners of a talent contest sponsored by the Independent Order of Foresters, Court Commencement Bay of Tacoma, at the VFW Hall. He was chosen outstanding instrumentalist on the piano. Jimmy was a student of Virgie McDonald.
25 years ago (1988)
John Altman, a resident of Broadway Plaza, would celebrate his 25th birthday tomorrow even though he had lived 100 years. Others with leap year birthdays were Virginia Johnson, Allan Johnson, Joe Schilter, Ralph Leyde, John Jacobsen and Ivy Hellenthal.
Aaron Brockelle, 9, of Everett, received an honorable mention in a December art contest sponsored by Cricket Magazine. His name appeared in the March edition of the national children’s magazine.
