NEWPORT — The sheriff of Pend Oreille County says 10 inmates in the county jail will likely face additional charges after a weekend jail disturbance.
The Spokesman Review reported that dust-up took place Sunday in Newport.
In a statement, Sheriff Alan Botzheim said one inmate assaulted a corrections officer, there were two inmate-on-inmate assaults and two jail cells were flooded. One of the flooded cells caused water damage in an adjoining courtroom.
No serious injuries were reported.
