Orthodontist Dr. Jason Bourne is buying back Halloween treats from kids, donating money to the Boys &Girls Club and the YMCA and sending the candy surrendered at his Marysville and Lake Stevens offices to troops serving overseas.

For every pound of candy turned in, Bourne gives $2 to the kid giving up his or her candy and $2 to youth programs in the county.

Last year, Bourne and his staff collected more than 735 pounds of candy, donated $1,450 and sent the candy to servicemen and women.
