SNOHOMISH — The cause of a brush fire in rural Snohomish is under investigation by the county fire marshal’s office.

Snohomish firefighters were summoned around 4 p.m. Saturday to reports of a brush fire near Mero Road and 213th Avenue NE. Fire crews had to truck in water and lay down about 500 feet of hose to reach the flames, Snohomish Fire Battalion Chief Mike Gatterman said.

The fire burned a 400 foot by 100 foot area before crews were able to snuff it out.

No one was injured.

It wasn’t immediately clear Saturday what started the fire.
