MARYSVILLE — A son was arrested for investigation of striking his father on the head with a tire jack Tuesday in Marysville.
The son, 21, had been visiting his mother around 10 a.m. in the 6000 block of 50th St. NE, when her estranged husband arrived at the home, Sgt. Pete Shove, of the Marysville Police Department, said. The two men argued.
The son grabbed a metal jack and struck his father, 41, in the head, leaving him with a bloody wound that needed stitches, Shove said. The father grabbed a metal rod and struck his son in the head, too. The son screamed that he was going to kill him and pulled out a gun, which turned out to be a BB gun, police said.
Officers arrived and arrested the son for investigation of second-degree domestic violence assault.
Both men needed treatment at a hospital. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
