Spokane police investigate shooting

SPOKANE — Spokane police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night that left one man dead in the city’s Hillyard neighborhood.

Police responded to a report of gunfire just before midnight and found the victim with multiple wounds outside a house.

Police say the victim died at the scene.

Police identified a suspect and found him at a nearby house, where he was taken into custody about an hour later.

Police say the victim and suspect knew each other, and that the man in custody is cooperating with police.
