SPOKANE — A woman who was convicted of killing her husband was sentenced Tuesday in Spokane to 25 years in prison.
Shellye Stark will be 71 before she is eligible for release.
The Spokesman-Review reported her first murder conviction was overturned on appeal and Stark was convicted of murder a second time for the 2007 shooting of Dale Stark at their home in Spokane’s South Hill neighborhood.
The jury rejected her claim that she was forced to kill in self-defense because she was a battered wife and that her husband had forced her into prostitution.
