EVERETT — Snohomish County government received a clean audit for last year, according to a report released Monday by state Auditor Brian Sonntag.

The report looked at the county’s financial statements and how it spent federal grant money in 2009.

State audits aren’t always favorable. In 2006, the state auditor prompted changes at the Snohomish County jail after faulting the county for poor spending controls in the jail maintenance division and for missing prescription medication.
