Suspect in jail following Kitsap Co. shooting

BREMERTON — A 40-year-old Bremerton man is in jail following a shooting in a store parking lot Tuesday that left one man wounded.

The Kitsap County sheriff’s office said a 35-year-old Bremerton man suffered gunshot wounds to his neck and arm but that the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening. The man was taken to Tacoma General Hospital.

The suspect, whose identity was not released, was booked into Kitsap County Jail on investigation of first-degree assault. Bail was set at $500,000.

The shooting occurred at about 2:30 p.m. in the parking lot of a Fred Meyer store in East Bremerton.

Police recovered a handgun at the scene.
