Suspect in Spokane homicide shoots self in Pasco

SPOKANE — Police say a 26-year-old man who accidentally shot himself in the leg Saturday at a Pasco motel is a suspect in a fatal shooting Friday in Spokane.

Brandon Mellon was taken to a hospital in Portland in critical condition.

The Spokesman-Review reports he’s under guard and will be returned to Spokane for the homicide case.

Police say investigators had determined Mellon was a person of interest in Friday’s shooting and they were looking for him before the Pasco shooting.

KHQ-TV reports the Spokane County medical examiner has identified the victim as Arnold Lommasson, 48, who died from a gunshot wound to the head.
