EVERETT — An Everett bank robber wore a yellow safety vest to two heists this month.
Detectives released security photos of the suspect Monday.
Police believe the man robbed Coastal Community Bank on Jan. 3 in the 10500 block of 19th Avenue SE, then struck Columbia Bank on Jan. 10 in the 11100 block of Evergreen Way. Both robberies were around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
Both times, the man walked into the bank wearing a yellow vest. He handed notes to the tellers, and never showed or implied a weapon. Once he left the banks, he took off the vest and carried it with him, Everett officer Aaron Snell said. Police don’t know if he has been jumping into a vehicle to escape.
He’s described as in his late 30s or early 40s, around 170 to 200 pounds, 5-foot-10 to 6-foot-1, with dark hair and a goatee. He might have a tattoo on the back of his neck.
