TACOMA — Searchers have recovered the body of an 18-year-old Tacoma man who drowned Friday in Alder Lake near Eatonville.
Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said that man slipped under water while trying to cross the lake by holding onto a log with friends. He was not wearing a life vest.
The News Tribune reported that Pierce and Thurston county crews searched through the weekend and found his body Sunday evening.
He was identified by the Pierce County medical examiner’s office as Rashawn Hale-Moody.
