Teacher arrested for investigation of rape

FEDERAL WAY — Police in Federal Way say a 33-year-old high school teacher has been arrested after a now-17-year-old girl told her mother she had been having sex with a teacher for the past two years.

Court documents identify the teacher as Eli T. Godbolt of Auburn. He was arrested Monday and booked into jail for investigation of second-degree rape, then later released on personal recognizance. His arrest was not announced until Friday and he declined comment later in the day.

Godbolt has not been formally charged. The Todd Beamer High School teacher is now on paid administrative leave.

Court documents said the girl informed her mother last Sunday.
